Steeple Bay overview
Commanding a beautiful coastal setting with magnificent estuary views Steeple Bay is nestled in heart of the picturesque Essex countryside in the seaside village of Southminster. Conveniently ...
located only an hour from the capital city this scenic holiday park is ideal for those looking to enjoy time away with the family quality entertainment or simply a break away from the hustle and bustle of modern day living. The historic town of Maldon is within easy reach together with popular seaside resorts such as Southend-on-Sea and of course miles of glorious coastline and a vibrant nightlife all close by.
Don't do it!!!!!!

The site was horrid!
It was dirty and very badly maintained.
All hard standing pitches were broken up, all electric hook up points were dilapidated and the one I used was unsafe (trip switches on all 4 points failed to work)
The pool was out of action apparently because the life guard had quit (Funny when they shut it during the week, just to re-open it for the weekend)
The club house is a dump with scattered rubbish, food and grime everywhere. (Which was left for days before finally pushed out of sight)
The hard standing area is close to the club house so you get rowdy drunks at closing time. The grassed areas are muddy, weed ridden and covered in rubbish.
Half of the hard standing pitches seem to used for caravan storage. One caravan’s awning collapsed while we were there and when reported staff did not seem to care. 4 days later I overheard another camper telephoning the owner of the caravan to inform him that this awning had collapsed. (The owner had not been notified!)
TV reception is zero apart from a very week analogue signal.
Most of the site is for static caravans who seem to want to destroy the look of the site further by adding sheds, trailers, oil drums and general crap to their plots. Very unsightly.
Around the site you will find rubbish, debris and more rubbish. Piles and piles of it. So bad that they even fence off what looks like a junk yard to the side of the club house.
Dogs run free around the site (even though rules are that they should be on a lead)
The on site beach is a dirty, muddy bog with a slipway to the water.
Toilets were dirty, not cleaned. Shower (I did decide to try it, will have my shots soon) flooded when used.
The on site shop is expensive and I was amazed that they were selling out of date food at a discounted price (is this not illegal?)
The reception girls looked bored out of their skulls, no smiles, no happy comments. Not helpful at all. Not surprised because they knew what we were going to encounter.
Around the site is nothing, no where close to visit (And you want to get away from the site!)
All in all NASTY, do not go
