When we first arrived we were a bit dissapointed after driving down the long path to find a very small run down looking complex.
But we received our caravan keys and was surprised at the standard the caravan was very close to the complex and most importantly clean and child friendly.
When we ventured to the beach we were slighly dissapointed at the lack of sand as we had to climb over quite large boulders to get to the beach. But the kids seemed happy to run around on the sand, they even found a crab or 3 which they wanted to keep!!!
The food on the complex was average, nothing to be excited about, after we were told they only actually had half of the food on the menu, The kids meals very large and the adults meals pretty bland but we've eaten worse.
Bar staff was the one dissapointing thing, I think they have forgotten how to smile, and the lady i presume was a manager of some sort ignored us totally!
The pool was also very nice, warm and clean, it was also quiet so we could spend time relaxing.
Down point is how you have to walk through the arcade to get to everything.... biggest temptation for any children, but we used it as a blackmail technique.
But this was all over turned by the amazing team stars. We only ever saw the manager a few times but he had a good rapor with the staff, it was good to see them enjoying themsleves.
The one team star we want to mention in particualar is Josie. She really put 100% into her job making sure every child had an amazing holiday we atteneded the "chocolate party" which my kids are still talking about today. She made time to talk to all guests and was never without a smile, even giving us advice of suitable days out in the area for us as a family.
Sparky fun time was alot of fun, and meeting the characters, playing games was exactly what we wanted out of the holiday.
This Brief breakway at the end of October ended up as a very suprisinly entertaining holiday. It was cheap and alot of Fun.
Thanks to all the staff and especially the teamstars at sandy bay.
We will be returning next year,

This was the worst place we have ever been. The caravan was absolutely filthy, we were concerned about our children catching something! when we arrived the beds still had not been changed from the previous occupant,s we had to strip the beds before we used them!! we ended up having to clean everything before we used it. There was filthy rubbish under the beds, broken glasses in cupboards, grime everywhere. The caravan had clearly not been cleaned for a very long time.... it makes me itch thinking about it. We left the very next day as we could not risk our kids being there any longer a disgusting hell hole, there really is no excuse .... thank god for Premier Inn!!
