Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest overview
For a great value self-catering family holiday, Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest is a friendly place with cabins set either around the lake or in the woodlands. It’s quiet and peaceful, but there is ...
still plenty going on to keep the children amused. Budding Robin Hoods can take Archery lessons for a small fee, and morning sessions at the swimming pool can be booked for private family groups and in the afternoons its open to all guests. Kids can try their hands at all sorts of different games from giant draughts to mini croquet and remember to bring their bikes along, as there is even a mountain bike circuit. For a completely relaxing family break this is an excellent choice. Kids will be safe and happy while the grown ups can re-charge their batteries. Bring supplies along as the shops are a couple of miles away and you will need a car to get around. ACCOMMODATION – There’s a choice of two, three or four bedroom cabins at Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest. All non smoking accommodation has TV with selected freeview channels/DVD, kitchen including microwave, bath and/or shower, bed linen and duvets provided with beds made up for your arrival. Gas and electricity by meter reading (£10 deposit May–Sep, £15 Oct–Apr). Outdoor stand for disposable barbecues is close to all cabins. Parking available for two cars per holiday home included. FOR KIDS - Outdoor adventure play area (3–12s), Play areas (1–5s & 3–12s), Animal corner, Children's mountain bike circuit
Fantastic Week Away

We stayed at Sherward Castle Holiday Forest from 17th of March 2012 for a week. As it was a couple of weeks before the Easter holidays starts it was very quiet but it was exactly what we wanted. The park itself was set in an idylic forest with lots of wildlife and a lovely duck lake right outside our log cabin. We took our 6 year old boy and 7 month old boy and there was plenty to do in and around the surrounding area. The pool was small but ample for what we needed with a "bubble bath" as our 6 year old reffered to it. There was also a great indoor play area for young children and babies with games that were all free to play. There was a small shop with everyday things but there was a large Tesco 5 minutes drive away. It was a great base to explore the surrounding area but we had as much fun running around the forest and building dens. The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. Our cabin was very warm and very clean. There are no cafe's or restaurants onsite but there is a cafe a short walk away and plenty of family friendly pubs not far away. We will be booking with them again and can highly recommend it to any families that enjoy the outdoors.
