Pontins Brean Sands Holiday Centre overview

Pontin's Brean Sands is located in a beautiful area on Somerset’s coast, by Burnham On Sea. It’s surrounded by long stretches of golden beaches, and the area is perfect for exploring with plenty ... of activities and days out nearby. A visit to the Animal Farm Adventure Park is a must! That’s if you ever venture outside the park itself, as there are heaps of activities for both kids and older guests. From the high rise thrills of abseiling and zip wires, to relaxing days by the indoor pool area. Accommodation is in one or two bedroom apartments (budget, classic, and club), and all come with a private bathroom and fitted kitchen. There are a choice of restaurants, bars, and shops in the park. Your little ones will love the entertainment. Football tournaments, circus skills, character shows, and live shows are all part of the Pontin's experience at Brean Sands.

What a dump!! chalets are out of date and dirty, only one place to eat which is the Queen Victoria and that is untidy, and very loud, ended up eating out every night because did not want to eat there and for "self catering" the facilities in the chalets are very poor, no microwave unless u upgrade to a club chalet and only one plug in the kitchen!! meaning you could only use one appliance at a time...
Tags: horrible, dated, wouldn't recommend to anybody!

Pontins 2008

My family & I visited this Park using vouchers from the newspaper, and I have to say that it was one of the worst places we'd ever visited. We upgraded to their "top" chalet, which had one small bedroom & a pull out sofa bed in the lounge. The mattresses all had plastic covers, which is fine, but all sheets provided were flat sheets which didn't fit properly. This meant that we were all sliding about all night & my 2 year old fell out completely several times a night. The space was incredibly small; the bin for food waste had no lid so had to be kept outside & the shower was operated with a push button, such as you get in swimming pools which made washing hair very difficult. It wasalso impossible to get out of the sofabed on one side, without opening the flimsy net curtains with one's completely average sized bottom! There was only one place to get food - a pub where the tables were filthy & no sign of anyone clearing them, so we had to leave the park each evening to feed the children. The entertainment was completely unsuitable for children - I took mine to see a 2pm showing of Beauty & the Beast, which started in the pitch dark, then a man dressed as a wolf leapt into the audience. This was before we'd even seen the Beast! Children (including mine) either burst into hysterical sobs, or fled the room, This was billed as a childrens show. The only saving grace was the pool, which had a lovely children's area, good slide and plenty of balls for little ones to play with. The beach however was very depressing, with oil all over it & warning signs for quicksand everywhere - not the best place to let kids play. There was hardly any evening entertainment for the kids - bingo was on for over an hour at 7pm, where the bluecoats spent the whole time. asking kids to be quiet . I was unsurprised to hear that Pontins were going out of business, particularly based on our experience. Perhaps the new owners will make a better job of things?
