Family fun holiday

we decided we needed a good fun filled weekend away and after browsing the internet we found a fantastic last minute deal for Butlins at Minehead, all four of us for only £179! we had so much fun the whole time we were there, with the swimming pool, indoors and out, even though too cold for the outdoor one, we had loads of fun indoors or the waves and the slides and the water was lovely and warm! the entertainment at night time is somethiong that can not be missed, the kids were amazed at the magic costumes and bright lights and booming songs whilst us adults were pretty mesmerised too! the food can be slightly expensive in some places and you can tell some has simply been microwaved and not cooked but that was the ONLY downfall, there is no time for anyone to get bored with some many rides, amusements, events and characters to see! totally recommended for any family or big kids for a cheap uk holiday with non stop entertainment for all ages!

We have stayed at this Butlins a couple of times now and have enjoyed it everytime we venture there. As our little boy gets older he finds more things to do. They certainly pack in the activities and make sure the children are happy and burning off the energy. The pool is always clean and staff are really friendly. The food choices are good and not too over priced and you can feel relaxed and safe that everyone is together and enjoying themselves. There is plenty to do on site but there are also lots of places to visit nearby. Our little boy loves the Skyline gang and follows them everywhere. The nightly entertainment is great for all ages and the drinks are at a resonable price. The apartments we have stayed in are always very clean. No complaints from us.

We stayed at Butlins Minehead for a Christmas long weekend and had a fun time. The apartment was clean and well equipped for our stay. The food was okay (that was included in our booking) and meant that we didn't always make use of their provisions and made stuff ourselves or went out. Lots to see and do there and perfectly weather proof! Had a great time and the Christmas themed events were wonderful. Loved their little cinema too!

great, great, great holiday

we have just got back from a 4 night stay at mineheads butlins. well what can i say apart from fantastic place. my son who is 18months old had so much to do even though it rained for most of the holiday he was kept busy character shows including barney and looney tunes. there was also the skyline gang who seemed to do shows most days at least once. a funfair designed especially for the under 4's, which he loved. soft play area a fantastic swimming pool indor and outdoor, we used the indoor pool twice while we were there they had a lazy river and a wave machine which we all thought was fantastic there was a playground for the little ones too and not to mention all the evening entertainment all of which are free. joshua loved running round chasing the lights on the dancefloor then there was donkey rides there for 2 days which was £3 for a ride which joshua loved. definatly be going back to butlins, may try another one next time.

Annual trip to Butlins!

My two children & I have been travelling to Butlins Minehead with a group of 3 other mums and their children for the past 6 years. It started with a visit to see the Tweenies live & has continued apace... Everyone is catered for at Butlins - if you can afford the difference and are travelling with small children (& no husbands on these occasions!), stay in the Gold apartments. These are ideally placed for all the attractions, plus they have their own nearby car park and best of all, if you book two adjacent apartments, you can leave the doors between them open & have a childs lounge & an adults lounge! Our children's ages range from 3-8 years and we never run out of anything to do. A big tip is to visit Bob's Yard of rides for smaller children at 1pm when it opens as there are far less queues then. Cheaper options for meals for large groups include the wonderful pizza & pasta buffet at Pizza Hut, plus the childrens meals at the Sun & Moon pub are very reasonable. This has the advantage of a wonderful outdoor play area too, which keeps ours entertained for ages. Make sure you budget for additional extras such as the bungee trampoline or face painting and glitter tattoos, but generally all entertainment is included. Ours are still transfixed by the Billy Bear Puppet Theatre, and the girls can't wait to see the Skyline Gang every visit! Be warned though that many of the fairground rides are not suitable for the younger ones due to height restrictions, including the dodgems, so don't promise too much before you've had a chance to check the kids heights on the readily available boards everywhere. Drinks can be very expensive, so travel with your own for the kids & make sure there's plenty of refreshment for the adults when you get back to the apartment ,exhausted after a full day! If the neon and noise eventually get too much for you, escape to the gorgeous sandy beach that is just over the road from the complex. You can also wander into Minehead and visit the steam railway, for a change of scene. I can't recommend a visit to Butlins highly enough - exhausting, but thoroughly enjoyable, and almost completely weather proof.

We visited Butlins Minehead for a weekend and certainly found alot to occupy us even though the weather was terrible! Most of the attractions are located inside underneath a huge tented structure, which wasn't what we were expecting. We enjoyed the bowling alley, cinema, crazy golf, swimming pool and fun fair as well as the beautiful beach just outside the park. We also enjoyed having a stoll through MInehead, although it is pretty much one high street. The only negatives were that the food and drink were very expensive on site. The accommodation could also have done with a bit of a makeover and it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. If going, I would strongly suggest you take your own food and drink with you to save costs.

The most fun holiday ever!

I have been going to Butlins in Minehead since I was a teenager and now I am a mum I was able to take my children and boy did they enjoy it! There is absolutely everything you need onsite for a great holiday. There is an outdoor fair for all ages, an indoor fair for the little ones, great food, amazing swimming pool with flumes, high wire adrenaline course, brilliant entertainment, crazy golf, arcades, the list goes on and on! My youngest was so excited to see Bob The Builder it is all we heard about for months before the holiday. My daughter got to sing and dance to her hearts content with the redcoats who are so much fun and talented. My eldest loved the bungee trampolines and the climbing wall, he thought he was Spiderman! We stay half board and the food is briliiant, you can eat as much as you like and leep going back for more. This is perfect for the puddings! The accomodation is light, clean and roomy and the most important thing is that he beds are comfortable! Just outside Butlins is Minead beach, which is a man made beach but still plenty deep enough to try and dig to Australia (or thats what my children thought!). As it is Britain, the weather is not always perfect but that doesn't matter at Butlins as there is so much to do indoors - Ten Pin Bowling, Shopping, even get a manicure or haircut! We love Butlins so much we are going back again in July and we know it will be yet another brilliant holiday.
