Exmoor Gate allows you to explore both north and south coasts of Devon which can be reached in under an hour, enjoy the array of family activities and places to visit from the mysterious Tarr Steps made of huge stone slabs and set in a shady valley which is probably part of a prehistoric trackway or medieval route, to the many National Trust sites in this part of Devon such as Arlington Court, south of Combe Martin. Appreciate the scenery on a steam powered train or take a boat over to Lundy Island. A must see is Cheddar, famous for its Cheddar cheese and Britain’s largest gorge and not forgetting the Roman city of Bath!
