We visited this campsite in Southwest France when our daughter was 2 and I was pregnant with our son. We went in late September. The benefit of late September is the fact the price is vastly reduced however the children’s clubs have all finished by then. This didn’t really mater as the clubs seemed aimed to children older than 2 anyway. The caravan was as good as could be expected very clean and well maintained. There wasn’t a separate cot though just a children’s bed with a guard but this did serve a purpose. The weather in late September is very warm during the day but very cold at night. This meant we would spend the morning wrapped up warm but the afternoon outside baking! The site has a couple of play areas that where suitable for 2 years and above and where all based in sandy areas so less need to worry about falling off things. They have a wonderful baby pool that is huge with a great baby slide and a fountain. Make sure you bring your Speedo’s though, as the lifeguard would not let my husband submerge himself in the water with swimming shorts. However, these rules are common in France. Although the site was less than half full the pool area was very busy and therefore I should imagine that during high season it would be very difficult to secure sun beds. The site is generally children friendly but our pitch was up on a hill with step steps and big drops all around, which was a nightmare with a two year old. The near by beeches are excellent very long and sandy! I would say though this isn’t my favourite region of France but that is just me I guess. Would certainly travel with Matthew’s Holidays again though. They give everything that key camp does but at a fraction of the price.
