There is superb mountain scenery in nearby Strathglass and the magnificent Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, where you can glimpse the Highland wildlife such as the eagle and red deer. Make the most of the Scottish Heritage sites such as castles, museums and taste a wee dram of whisky at one of the distilleries in the area. For something a little more relaxing take a boat trip and view the dolphins on the Moray Firth, or enjoy a nostalgic steam train ride on the Strathspey Railway from Aviemore to Broomhill, now famous as Glenbogle in TV’s Monarch of the Glen.
