Explore the medieval city of Fez, ancient Roman ruins at Volubilis, before heading out into the desert on a camel adventure. You’ll even get to stay in a traditional Bedouin camp! Then on for a ... walking adventure in the Atlas Mountains before visiting the bustling city of Marrakech. Day 1 – Fly to Fez. Day 2 – A tour of Fez which seems to linger in the Middle Ages. As you arrive in the city and begin to walk around your senses are torn between beautiful sights, intricate sounds and colorful smells. Fez has enough sights to keep you busy for three to four days. The streets are filled with mosques, medersas, fondouks and monuments. Day 3 – A fabulous day trip you awaits you today, firstly your will visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the most well preserved ruins in Morocco. In the afternoon you will visit Meknes, where you see many impressive monuments and views of the Agdal basin. Day 4 – You will make your way to the old garrison town of Erfoud via Midelt, a day’s drive which allows you to enjoy and be impressed by the diverse scenery on route. Day 5 – Enjoy a relaxing morning before a short journey to Merzouga. Watching the sun rise or set over the sand dunes of Merzouga may be the most spectacular experience you have on your trip to Morocco. Day 6 – The morning is free to investigate on your own. Merzouga is an excellent base from which to explore the desert and bird-watchers will be enthralled with what they see. You will then experience a camel trek into the desert and an evening spent sleeping under the stars in Bedouin-style tents and devour the delicious Moroccan cuisine. Day 7 – A return camel ride to Merzouga to take the 4WD to the Todra Gorge which will allow you to get a full feel of the unbelievable glory of the massive canyon walls reaching some 300 meters. Arguably, the best scenery awaits those who are willing to venture slightly off the beaten path. Day 8 – The next 2 days you will be staying in a Berber house in the Atlas Mountains where you can explore the village of Bour Trarar and the Valley of Roses. Those who have a nose for perfumes will surely enjoy visiting this valley. Day 9 – A full day will be spent walking in the mountains, stopping for a welcome picnic out of the heat along the way. Day 10 – Today you will pass the fertile lands of Morocco towards one of the most fortified Kasbahs in the country called Ait Benhaddou, many films have been made here such as Gladiator, ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and ‘Jewel of the Nile’ . Day 11 – Drive to Marrakech across the Atlas Mountains Snake charmers, magic potions, hidden palaces, Marrakech brings the most outlandish travellers' tales to life you’ll be succumbed by its charms. Day 12 – Adventure awaits on every corner of a Marrakech city tour from the Medina (old city), with its artisans' workshops, saints' shrines and pedestrian street stalls ladling up steaming bowls of snails and sheep's head soup in the afternoon you will travel to the attractive port city of Essaouira. Day 13 –The day is yours to explore the old pirates' nest of Essaouira a fantastic place to haggle for souvenirs. You can spend your day watching the fishermen, go for walks around the old fort and enjoy the delicious seafood. Day 14 – Return to Marrakech and visit the stately Koutoubia minaret, a reminder of the importance of Islam to the people who live in this city. If you need to relax how about trying a traditional steam bath called a hammam. Day 15 - Trip ends you will be transferred to Marrakech airport for your return flight to the UK.
