- Book a boat excursion from any of the main islands and go spotting dolphins or even the odd whale. A trip in a glass bottomed boat to see the amazing underwater life is also a great attraction, or the kids can do it themselves with a snorkel from some beaches.
- For an exciting day out there are some really great Activity Parks like Aqualand Aquasur in Grancanaria, Euro Park in Fuerteventura and The Rancho Texas Park in Lanzarote. The latest to open in 2009 is Siam Park in Tenerife.
- Wildlife parks are also very popular on the islands with the emphasis on parrots and camels! Try the stunning Jungle Park in Tenerife or Parque de los Cocodrilos on Gran Canaria.
- The Canaries are volcanic islands and there is spectacular scenery to be seen. Take a cable car ride up the highest mountain in Spain, Mount Teide in Gran Canaria or go to Lanzarote whose eerie landscape is so unusual it has been declared a World Biozone.
- The towns and villages are certainly worth a visiting. The Sunday market in Teguise in Lanzarote is bound to be a hit with all the family.
