Cyprus has all the delights of a seaside holiday, with every water sport on offer in the many resorts attached to both sandy beaches and scenic towns such as Paphos, Latchi, Millou or Larnica. It is the spectacular range of the Troodos Mountains, running whole length of the island that provides the extra. In less than an hour you can be walking, riding or picnicking in a forest after passing gorgeous gorges, tiny villages with Byzantine churches and groves of olives and grapes. Cyprus offers you the best of both worlds! We have a great range of holidays on offer in this lovely island from half board in inexpensive hotels or self-catering apartments, to luxury hotels or your own villa in the hills. Top Tips for that extra special family holiday in Cyprus:
• If your family weekends at home include a walk in the country then take a picnic and head to one of the many nature trails. The most scenic are in the high Troodos Mountains, the pine forest above Argaka or on the Akamas peninsula, the last unspoilt coastal area in southern Cyprus.
• If you prefer riding to walking then consider a guided mountain bike tour in the Paphos forest or horse riding from the Tochni riding centre near Larnaca.
• There are lots of things to entertain the kids on the water apart from swimming. All of the main resorts have water sport centres. Maybe they would like to learn a new sport like paragliding, sea kayaking or kite boarding.
• Cyprus has some interesting historical sites. Top of the list are the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos and the UNESCO listed Byzantine churches in Troodos Mountains.
• For a more leisurely day out, take a boat trip around the UNESCO World Heritage protected Akamas peninsula. Some of the boat tours on offer come with a swim and barbeque included. Or just take a stroll along the marina in one of the coastal towns. Do a bit of shopping and then sample some freshly caught fish in one of the Tavernas.
