Family Holidays and Breaks in Derbyshire

Derbyshire has all the right ingredients to make a wonderful holiday destination for the whole family. Famed for the ruggedly spectacular scenery of its Peak District the county is home to some of the UK’s best locations for holiday parks and hotels set in some truly beautiful green spaces and landscapes, perfect for some great family walks. Ashbourne Heights Holiday Park is just one such location, situated above the Peak District National Park and offering some breathtaking views of this area of beauty. Combined with an indoor heated swimming pool and children’s play area, Ashbourne guarantees a terrific family trip. Derbyshire is also home to a number of stunning stately homes that are well worth a visit with the family and you can even stay in the proximity of one of the most elegant of them, Chatsworth Estate, if you stay at the Cavendish Hotel in Bakewell. For any literary fans in the family Chatsworth gets special mention as one of the grand homes described by Jane Austen in Pride and Prejudice! The Cavendish offers fantastic views of the surrounding Estate and inside has a stylish, charming design with friendly staff who warmly welcome all families.
