Dubai is fast becoming one of the hottest family holiday destinations and with flight and hotel prices at historic lows, now is the best time to find out a little more about this tiny futuristic Desert Kingdom. Dubai offers genuine gold-plated (almost standard in the bathrooms!) luxurious accommodation; mind-boggling entertainment complexes, Activity Parks for the kids and the largest and most sophisticated duty free shopping malls in the world. Being in the Middle East there is of course non-stop sun and warm water for the private beaches, infinity pools and play- pools that surround every hotel. The immediate impression is of an almost Sci Fi cityscape and a tour around its stunning architectural wonders is a must. The kids will be kept more than busy as most of the hotels we recommend have well organised and supervised kids clubs, activity centres and highly professional baby sitting facilities.

If you can drag the kids and yourselves away from the luxuries and distractions of your sybaritic hotel there is just a bewildering choice of amazing things to do and see. As well as lovely azure lapped beaches and every water sport imaginable; there are huge Water Worlds such Wild Wadi Park and Atlantis the Palm. Dubailand is a massive theme park complex that will soon rival even Disneyland. New attractions are opening all the time. Try to see a show at the open-air theatre at Al Sahrl or watch motor racing at the motor dome. The kids may even be able to see Thomas the Tank or take a trip to Legoland by this time next year. Then there’s shopping in the souks of the old town and / or in the newly opened Dubai Mall which surprise, surprise is the world’s largest. No worry about the kids getting bored here as you can bribe them with a bit of ice-skating, a Theme Park or take them to the multi screen multiplex cinema!  Dubai is all very much over the top, a bit surreal and more than a bit outrageous. You’ll love it!!
