Family Holidays and Breaks in Essex

Essex is a fantastic place to visit for your next family break. With its Constable countryside, great seaside resorts and over 14,000 listed buildings not to mention a plethora of museums, shops, galleries, top restaurants and much, much more there’s something for every single member of your family to enjoy during your stay. With so many beautiful open spaces to cherish and savour in Essex a holiday park always makes for a popular choice of accommodation with families. One of our favourites is Coopers Beach on Mersea Island, a charming holiday park with excellent facilities, beautifully scenic views of the sea and, for those of you that enjoy water sports, access to some fantastic water-based activities including windsurfing and sailing. Don’t worry if you’re not interested in water sports, there’s plenty of great walks to be had in the surrounding countryside plus some wonderful day trips from local ferry services and the chance to visit the oldest recorded town in England just down the road in Colchester. In fact a stop over in Colchester is well worth it and any stay in the oldest town should really be done at the oldest hotel, The Rose and Crown, a 14th-century timber-framed building with real personality and friendly staff that will make you and your family feel right at home.
