Disney's Newport Bay Club overview

Reminiscent of the elegant colonial summer mansions in Rhode Island, Disney's Newport Bay Club is a very large and busy hotel within walking distance or a short shuttle bus ride of the Disney parks. ... (NB: check if the pathways are now open as there has been renovation work in early 2010) Rooms are clean and comfortable and early breakfasts are recommended to avoid the queues. Overlooking the lake, the nautically themed hotel has a Cape Cod Restaurant and serves seafood specialities in the Yacht Club. There’s an outdoor swimming pool with a children’s section and an attractive indoor pool in a glass conservatory with sauna and whirlpool. ACCOMMODATION – Spacious guest rooms at Disney's Newport Bay Club are air-conditioned with blue and white nautical décor and have one or two double beds. Cots are available. Fabulous views if you upgrade to lake view rooms. FOR KIDS – Indoor swimming pool with some activities. Separate children’s pool. Breakfast with Mickey, dine with Goofy (extra charge) Meet & Greet favourite Disney characters in the hotel lobby every day.

Good all round hotel

We stayed in this hotel just before Xmas. The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful and although we had to wait a while to check in due the number of guests arriving at once, the staff did their best to speed things up and were very polite even though they were rushed off their feet! The hotel itself was clean and beautifully decorated for the festivities. My one complaint was the queuing for meals, the last thing you want to do with children! You are given a time slot to arrive for breakfast but whatever it is, make sure you're there early otherwise you could honestly be waiting 20-25 mins for a table. We attempted to eat at one of the hotel's restaurants for dinner, but were put off my the amount of people waiting! Access to the park is good so that's a plus but just bear in mind what time of year you visit, Xmas was great for the atmosphere but not the crowds!
