Gran Canaria is a very popular choice for family holidays and Childfriendly has some great holiday offers on this lovely island. Like all the other Canary Islands the weather is perfect all the year round, and it has great beaches and stunning mountain scenery. Gran Canaria is the most developed of the islands, so you have to be a bit selective depending on what you are looking for in your family holiday. In some of the major resorts like Playa del Ingles and around Las Palmas the capital, noise may be an issue from partying and discos but they are certainly the places for a lively time. For a more tranquil stay, look for somewhere in the sand dunes of Maspalomas or in the hills. Childfriendly has a great selection of holidays whatever your requirements. If your kids like windsurfing or sailing or want to learn, Gran Canaria is paradise. Choose somewhere close to the South East coast to stay, as the wind almost never stops blowing. Besides the sun and sand, Gran Canaria has many star attractions as a holiday centre, from numerous golf courses, Wild Life and Activity Parks to awesome scenery surrounding a sea teaming with wildlife.
