A family holiday in Malta combines a Mediterranean climate with an almost home from home atmosphere. Malta’s rich and varied history includes a spell under British rule, and the legacy has remained in the form of red letter boxes, driving on the left, and English as their second or even first language. Take a passiagata (evening stroll) down the narrow main street of Valetta, Malta’s imposing fortress capital. If you visit during the day don’t forget to look out over its battlements, as the view over the Grand Harbour is just stunning.
