   Besides children sailing free, most of MSC’s ships also offer family-size suites in Category 10: two connecting cabins where children can have a room to themselves! If you go for this option, you only have to fork out three adult fares, port dues and flights if you are doing a fly/cruise. This is a fantastic option for families of up to two children, you can give your kids (and yourselves) all the space you want to relax! Be sure to book early, as ships fill up fast.
I Pirati – Mini Club & Junior Club I Pirati, the children’s club, is where your children want to be! The fully-packed programme starts with the children meeting in the morning. 3 to 9 year olds are signed into the Mini Club, and 9 to 13 year olds into the Junior Club. Young children get busy with fun activities like painting, pool games, mini golf, mini soccer, mini-basketball, talent shows and fancy dress parades. The older children will love the treasure hunts, sports tournaments, themed parties and disco nights! Children under 13 have to be signed in and out of the club at all times so you can rest assured they are in safe hands.
Young adults can get involved in the Teens Club, with its full programme of games, dance classes, and evening activities like karaoke and parties. Video arcades offer the latest hi-tech games. Or you may want to take your children on shore excursions, exploring exciting terrain in North Europe, seeing historical sites in the Mediterranean, or even going as far as exotic Brazil, adventurous South Africa or sunny Florida. Whether your children stay onboard or go onshore, they will be ready for bed once evening comes, as they will have had a full day!
As the cruise is all-inclusive, and children sail free, your children can enjoy meals at no cost! You can purchase the Teen Card for your kids, so they can have drinks and snacks like ice-cream whenever they wish. As MSC Cruises is an Italian cruise company, children can enjoy pizza and pasta, on top of their perennial favourites like burgers, hot dogs and ice-creams, when they order from the children’s menu. The children’s menu is available at the restaurants.
If you feel like escaping it all and going for onshore excursions without your kids, you can notify the MSC Cruises youth club in advance, and leave your children at the I Pirati Club. As the children’s club also has activities on port days, you can rest assured the children will be well taken care of, with lots to do to keep them busy! On sea days, simply book yourself an exotic spa session or get your hair and nails done while your kids tire themselves out playing with new friends in the I Pirati Club...it’s a win-win situation!
