Family Holidays and Breaks in Northumberland

Northumberland is a perfect candidate for a family holiday with some of the most scenic countryside in the UK. Many painters have been inspired by some of the landscape views on offer in this Northern county and the coastline that looks out on to the North Sea has been deemed an area of outstanding natural beauty. Given the close proximity of the Scottish border it’s no wonder there are so many castles in this region of England and you can stay in the grounds of one at Haggerston Castle holiday park in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Set in some stunning grounds this holiday park has some fantastic facilities for entertaining families with golf, tennis courts, boating lakes, horse riding and much more besides. At the Pheasant Inn in Hexham you’ll find a traditional old English pub and hotel which offers a perfect place to stop over on any trips to Northumberland. Family-run, the Pheasant is a warm, peaceful place to relax with your family and is the ideal base for exploring much of the beautiful Northumberland countryside surrounding it.
