Visit Quito – a beautifully preserved colonial city, before heading to the indigenous village of Otlavo. From there you’ll get to explore Lake Cuicocha, followed by an Amazonian rainforest trek. ...
Then on to the Galapagos for some sea lion spotting and snorkelling! Day 1 – Depart London arrive in Quito where you will be transferred to your hotel. Day 2 – A guided tour around Quito’s historical center – or ‘old town,’ as it’s called – a maze of colonial splendor, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This striking city is spread across a spectacular Andean valley and flanked by volcanic peaks - breathtaking! Day 3 – You’ll be driving towards the stunning Otavalo region and take a guided walk which will take you up to the top of an eroded volcanic crater which offers diverse foliage and incredible views. Day 4 – Today you visit the famous Otavalo Market where you can buy just about anything, the market is particularly famous for its brightly coloured textiles, leather and speciality wood carvings. In the afternoon you will return to Quito. Day 5 – You’ll be setting off for your Amazon adventure today and therefore crossing the magnificent Andes, en route to your destination at the Napo River. You’ll be travelling parts of the old Inca route, looking out for the Andean Condor, enjoy a thermal spring and canoe trip which will take you to your destination. Day 6 – An Amazon rainforest trek is nothing short of awe inspiring, surrounded by incredible trees, foliage, you’ll learn that so many of the plants have medicinal properties, you’ll also get the opportunity to also meet some indigenous peoples. Day 7 – Your route to the Ecuadorian Spa Town of Bano is worth it, you will witness the beauty and the power of the Andean Mountain Range and the steep climb to Bano has to be seen to be believed! Day 8 – Journey to Quito via Cotopaxi on the Pan-American Highway and you’ll realise how close you are to the world’s highest active volcano. Day 9 - Today is the start of the Galapagos Cruise where from Quito you will be flown to Baltra. Santa Cruise Island is the central island in the Galapagos and home to the main port, Puerto Ayora and the Charles Darwin Research Station, which you will visit during your tour. Day 10 – A private boat will take you to Isabela Island which is shaped like a sea horse and was once a penal colony, it is the largest of the islands and remarkably beautiful. The boat trip will show you all sorts of sea life. In the afternoon you’ll visit the Galapagos Turtles Rearing Centre. Day 11 – Today is volcano day you will be visiting the second largest crater in the world and a volcanic fissure both of which are on Isabela Island. Day 12 – A relaxing beach day at Tortuga Bay enjoy the pure white sand. Day 13 – In the morning you will be transferred to the airport to fly to Quito where you will have an afternoon free to explore or relax. Day 14 – Trip ends and you will take an overnight flight to London via Houston. Day 15 – Arrive London.
