Family Holidays and Breaks in Suffolk

With the rugged charm of The Broads to the north and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths both deemed Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Suffolk has lots to offer families considering taking a family holiday to the area. For any fans of horses in the family the town of Newmarket is definitely worth a visit with all manner of horse-themed days out available for the family. The famous Newmarket Racecouse is of course the main attraction but also of interest in the local area is the National Horse Racing Museum. If you’re thinking of staying in the region then the Heath Court Hotel is a great family friendly destination. Set in beautiful countryside on the edge of Newmarket Heath the kids will enjoy the short walk it takes to see some of the horses being exercised. If you’re considering self-catering then Broadland Sands is a good choice along the coastal regions of Suffolk. Not far from Lowestoft, the park has fantastic facilities for the kids with an outdoor heated pool, all manner of sports courts and entertainers at night. Plus it’s ideally located close to The Broads and sandy beaches as well as a number of the local traditional coastal towns.
