The building itself was the inspiration behind the Wind in the Willows' Toad hall, and occupies a stunning location with walled gardens and views over the fishing port of Fowey. It still retains a number of it’s original features including wooden paneling, elaborate carpets and vaulted ceilings. It has a fantastic restaurant serving up fresh traditional Cornish produce, with an emphasis on seafood sourced from the nearby coastline. Children are well catered for at this child friendly hotel. A whole range of activities are on offer throughout the year, all supervised by qualified child carers. Face painting, t-shirt making, leaf painting, and even cookery classes all come part of the hotels package for kids. There’s also a lot to keep older children busy including an indoor pool, outdoor playground, and designated room where movies are played.
