Cannes Carlton Intercontinental Hotel, Cannes

I was lucky enough to go to Carlton Hotel in Cannes recently for five daysafter a competition win. The hotel is elegant and has a location right on the seafront of Cannes bay. It has a private beach where if you can afford 35E each you can have breakfast. My daughter and I had a classic twin room which was at the back of the hotel. The rooms have TV, safe bathrobes,slippers and really comfy beds. They are not that big and you can hear the cental ventilation system if you leave the window open. Some young children about and the hotel did seem to be very child friendly. The service was excellent and the suites at the front of the hotel must have been glorious. The film industry reputation is evident throughout the hotel and the sweeping staircase is lovely. Go as Cannes is fantastic but take a travel kettle and eat outside of this hotel if you are not a film star.
