Brecon Youth Hostel overview
Brecon Youth Hostel is a delightful Victorian Country house surrounded by beautiful countryside. The hostel makes an ideal location if you fancy exploring the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park ...
with its many walks and cycle routes. The hostel has a selection of rooms, with from 2 to 10 beds per room and also some family rooms. The hostel has a laundry room, TV lounge, common room and a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. Wi-fi is another great facility and cots are available on request. Prices start at £14 for an adult and £10.50 for under 18's. The Hostel is very family friendly and is often used for family reunions and get togethers. The house is only a short drive from Brecon town with its cathedrals and historic streets. Other activities you will enjoy in the area include pony trekking, canoeing or sailing on Llangorse Lake, or why not visit the Brecon Mountain railway. Brecon Youth Hostel is an ideal holiday destination for families.

The Becon youth hostel is based ina large victorian farm house in the village Groesfford which is a couple of miles outside of the town Brecon. Surrounded by the brecon beacons and beautiful countryside, it really is a beautiful location. We were a bit nervous taking our daughter there to stay as Youth Hostels are not known as family places but we were pleasantly suprised. The Hostel had a designated family room where children could play games and watch television. The Hostel also had many other families there so it obviously was a family venue.
The hostel served a delicious breakfast and evening meal but if you wanted a change of venue, there is a lovely pub in the village which serves great food.
In the village there is also a canal which is well worth a visit as is the town of Brecon. The hostel is mainly used by walkers who are planning to walk the beacons so it is ideal if you want to go walking with your family, but it can get very muddy outside the hostel so make sure you take your wellies.
Our room cost £50 for the night and it slept five (bunk beds) which was very good value.
Highly recommended
