Infants - 0 to 3 years old
Thomson know that a family holiday with infants can be challenging, so their Family Clubs for toddlers aged 0 to 3 years have been designed with exactly that it mind. Fantastic facilities, activities, and all the extras allowing you as parents to have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday! Here’s the low down on Thomson’s Family Club for infants:
Toddler Zone – Arts, crafts, music, and storytelling sessions run by Thomson’s child care staff. Drop-in as you please – after all it’s completely free!
Soft Play Area – Soft Play Areas are becoming increasingly popular at home, so why not take the fun abroad! Let your tots have fun in a soft and protected environment, open 7 days a week and even air conditioned.
Splash Pools – No family resort would be complete without separate children’s pools, offering a safe environment for your little ones to splash around in.
Baby equipment – Not sure about what baby essentials you can take with you on the plane? Thomson have it covered with their baby equipment pre-booking service. From cots and sterilsers, to baby baths and food packs.
Step 2 – A whole load of push and ride today including tricycles and pedalcars that can be borrowed free of charge. Dads – don’t get too excited this service is for toddlers only…
Children - 3 to 12 years old
Don’t worry - your 3 year old won’t be mixing with teenagers! This category is split into three different groups, to ensure that all the entertainment and activities are tailored to your child’s age. With Thomson’s supervised kid’s clubs you can relax knowing that your children will be having heaps of fun in a safe and supervised environment. Here are some of the benefits of Thomson’s Family Club for children aged 3 to 12 years old:
Kids club – Run by highly trained childcare staff, and open 6 days a week with at least 2 hour’s worth of entertainment each day. Your children will get the chance to make friends in an action-packed environment, and it’s completely FREE of charge.
Tots – This has been specially designed for 3 to 5 year olds with a range of imaginative activities such as treasure hunts, teddy bear picnics and lots of story telling!
Team – For children aged 6 to 8 years of age, offering plenty of team-building activities (and fun of course!). Kid’s will love the ship wrecked challenge, and learning the ancient art of wizardry. Tribe – A club for kids aged 9 to 12 that gets their creative juices flowing, to help solve a number of cryptic challenges. With murder mystery games, and even a Kidzone “I’m a celebrity game” by the end of you holiday you children won’t want to leave!!
Extras – If supervised clubs aren’t enough to keep your little ones busy, then read on for even more activities for children aged 3 to 12: Swimming lessons run by qualified British instructors for swimmers of all levels (supplement payable). A Drop in Den packed full of games, scientific experiments and even circus equipment! Miracle play areas – state of the art in-resort playgrounds. Evening super parties – evening entertainment for kids hosted 3 night’s a week. Kid’s buffet – a specially designed buffet area for children. No need for tippy toes here!
Teenagers - 13 to 16 years old
We all know that teenagers are too cool for school, which is why Thomson have tapped into this and created some fun and funky activities. Inside the ‘The Grid’ (even the name will tempt them), they can chill out at the cyber café, or pick up some new skills such as DJ’ing or playing the drums. There are even courses on how to become a TV presenter or film Director. We fear this might be another case of not telling Dad, in case he tries to hit the stage…
THOMSON FAMILY CLUB EXTRA
In 2008 Thomson created Family Club Extra, which includes a whole load of exciting new activities and features at six of their Family Club resorts:
Baby Zone
With Baby Zone gone are the days when you keep having to keep pop back to your room to take care of all your baby’s needs. This is a quite place in the heart of the resort where you can pop in to feed your baby, change a nappy or have a little play with some of the latest toys and equipment.
Stage Academy
Remember the Razzamataz pitch on the Dragon’s Den? Well now your kids can experience the real thing, as now features Razzamataz theatre schools in all Family Club Extra resorts. This singing, dancing, and acting school operates in peak season so be sure to check for the exact dates at the time of booking, and it costs £20 per child for three sessions.
Reebok football academy This fantastic football school run by fully qualified Reebok F.A. coaches is open to boys and girls aged 5 to 16. Your budding football stars will learn new techniques and at the end of the course receive a special award. The course costs £25 for two one and a half hour sessions and includes a special academy pack complete with Reebok t-shirt and water bottle. Creche
Thomson Family Club Extra resorts all have a Creche service run by fully qualified staff that’s open three times a day (for 2 hour sessions), six days a week. You can drop off you infant as you please, safe in the knowledge that they are in good hands. You’ll receive a local mobile phone on loan so you can keep in touch with the minders, and the crèche itself is designed to a very high standard including: Air con, soft flooring, a designated sleeping area, play section, children’s bathroom, and food preparation area.
Entertainment
At selected times over the school holidays an children’s entertainer will be on hand at Thomson Family Club Extra resorts. You’re little ones will have the chance to pick up a number of circus skills, from magic tricks to puppetry and balloon shaping. And if they’re shy and don’t want to participate they can sit back and enjoy the show!
VIP family club
Become part of Thomson the Dog’s gang. For an extra £30 a week (£50 in July and August), you’ll get exclusive front-tickets to Thomson the Dog’s story time and membership to the club. You’ll even have a personal visit from the dog himself to your themed room, complete with activity packs, DVD player and access to the resort’s films library.
