Nestling in the Chiltern Hills, Aldbury has a village green with a duck pond and stocks and is within walking distance of National Trust's Ashridge forest. If you are lucky you may even see the local Morris Men performing in the village. The Valiant Trooper has a reputation for serving excellent traditional English meals like roasts, casseroles or steak and kidney pie. The blackboard menu changes regularly with daily specials for lunch and dinner. There is lovely garden with a large play area, which is perfect for families with children. Food on the children’s menu is home cooked and healthy and half portions of main menu items can also be ordered for children.

"The Valiant Trooper Aldbury"

We recently visited The Valiant Trooper on recomendation from friends of ours in the area. We went for lunch on a Saturday and had a great time. The kids menu was great value and there was a wide choice on offer. The adults also really enjoyed their meals and also the fantsatic beer on offer - one of which was Trooper Ale brewed down the road in Tring. The kids had great fun playing on the wooden play area in the garden allowing the adults to enjoy some piece and quiet.. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. We will certainly be returning soon!
