Ailsa Tavern overview

A gem of a pub located between St Margarets and Isleworth. It has a great beer garden where the children can run around, a kids menu (with proper food on it!) and very friendly staff. Kids can also ... come during the winter and eat inside, where there is a stock of games and colouring books. They have also recently added baby changing facilities, so there's no need to bring your own changing mat. Food for the adults is excellent and all home made, including tapas, pizzas and daily specials

Great place for the kids

Have to agree with MarkD's comments below. We actually met Marec - the owner of the Alisa a couple of month's ago. He's a great guy and you'll be well looked after. If you're heading to the Twickenham / Isleworth area we'd recommend you stop by!

Still a great pub!

Just heard a discussion on BBC Radio London when they interviewed one of the new owners of the pub (recently took over the Ailsa). He sounded really genuine about families (Mums annd kids were the topic of the radio chat) being welcome in the pub. Having been in the pub recently I can confirm that it appears popular with mums and toddlers at lunchtime. (The beer and food are great too!!)

Eating at the Ailsa

One of my local pubs - I love going to the Ailsa with the children. The food is really good and the beer garden safe. They are really keen on kids and have games / pens available at the bar (they even sometimes have a jar of kiddie sweets that parents can use for well behaved children). Recently they've added an offer on Sundays where kids eat free on the last Sunday of the month (you will need to check if this is still running) so its now great value as well. And finally - one of my main criteria for taking kids to the pub - the toilets are ok and clean - and even have baby change facilities now!
