Quick and efficient service, great for kids and pre-theatre dinners

We always think Cafe Rouge is a good idea - we get in, take a look at the menu and always struggle to find something to eat. The food is good but neither good quality French, or easy-to-eat English. That being said, we have never been disappointed with the quality of the kids food in Cafe Rouge. The Salford Quays restaurant agaiin was fantastic for this. There is always a number of dishes on offer which all come with a side of vegetables. Prices are really reasonable and when we visited our son was given a balloon and colouring pack, which I think is standard for the chain. Food was good, I particularly like the lunch time deals which they have on regularly - it makes dining in the restaurant more affordable. I had a 'posh' sausage and mash which was really tasty and probably one of the better meals I have had at a Cafe Rouge. Children's food was again, well cooked. Both were served quickly and the staff were really helpful. We were going to see a show at The Lowry, so we didn't have a lot of time to linger and the staff were really efficient. Desserts were basic, I didn't eat one but my son had an ice-cream and enjoyed it. Total bill came to about £15 for both of us, which was good for a restaurant lunch. Really good location for shopping/cinema/theatre and quick service.

Lunch out

We went to Cafe Rouge for lunch after watching a kids show at The Lowry Centre. It was a sunday at 12pm and wasn't to busy but quickly filled up. The restaurant is quite large with outdoor seating aswell and our girls were welcomed with activity packs and high chairs. The waiter was lovely with them and very efficient. The food was great although my husband didn't think his steak was worth the price. They had a kids menu with drink and dessert and the toilets were clean with baby changing. The restaurant overlooks The Lowry Centre so is a nice spot . I would recommend.
