Slattery's Patissier and Chocolatier overview
Slattery's is a two-floor Slattery's Patissier, Chocolatier and restaurant.
The first floor of Slattery's is dedicated to their wonderful collection of celebration cakes, chocolates, pastries and baking shop. The cakes are on display and samples can be tested if you are visiting to order a wedding cake or large birthday cake. The shop sells a variety of chocolate shapes, cakes and pastries ...
which are all made in house and displayed in an island of fridges and units in the centre of the building. The baking store sells unusual ingredients as well as candles and cake sparklers.
The baking and decorating kitchens towards the back of the first floor can be viewed through the glass windows which are in the store. Here visitors can see the cakes being produced in front of their eyes.
As well as the store and baking area, Slattery's offers a restaurant facility upstairs with changing menus and sweet treats. Toilets are available.
Courses run throughout the year for adults and children. Subject areas include chocolate crafting, baking, sugarpaste models, cupcake decorating and much more.
Slattery's is located in Whitefield, near Bury in Manchester.
A hidden gem

From outside, and from their website, Slattery's doesn't seem like much; an old building with some fancy wedding cakes in the downstairs windows.
You couldn't be more wrong.
Slattery's is an amazing place to take your children, looking at all the cake designs is great fun and there is also a patisserie stall and a medium sized shop downstairs - lots of treats for little people.
Upstairs, however, hidden away is a gem of a restaurant. Serving good quality, simple food. We have eaten at Slattery's a few times for lunch; Jacket Potatoes are always served well with a lovely salad garnish. This is nothing like your typical cafe.
Be warned, however, it gets booked up really quickly and it can get awfully busy at weekends. If you really fancy eating here and trying Slattery's out, it's worth booking.
Chocolate courses are also available, however these are for adults only. A nice treat for yourself and a couple of friends though.
There's a lift for those with buggies and pushchairs, highchairs are available and there are toilets etc. for all customers. I would definitely say that the food is suitable for children. A full example of their menu can be found on their website under the 'Dining Room' tab, as well as some pictures of the restaurant itself.
