MJs Restaurant, Darwen

The MJs Restaurant of the Whitehall Hotel complex serves fantastic english cuisine, at a slightly higher than average price. The restaurant is modern, contemporary and the staff are well attired and vigilant. The establishment welcomes children of all ages and didn't bat an eyelid when I breastfed my one year old at the dining table. There is a good choice of food - we opted for Sunday lunches (which were traditional, with a twist) but there was a fantastic array of dishes which were really aspiring. Children can have a smaller portion or meals can be made dependant on what is in stock in the kitchen. There is no children's activity packs or play areas as the restaurant is predominately for adults - however there is a huge fish tank which attracts children's attention, so if you're planning to eat out perhaps book the table and ask to be seated by the fish tank. Pop some additional crayons in your bag and you've got the recipe for a fantastic meal for you and your child will definitely be entertained. The staff are welcoming, friendly and good with children. Baby changing and toilet facilities are easily accessible and highchairs are provided.
