Olive Press Preston overview
Facing beautiful landscaped parkland right in the centre of town, this is a lively pizzeria serving excellent Italian/Mediterranean food. Hand made pasta and stone baked pizza with delicious classic ...
toppings. Kids can really get involved in the meal by making their own pizzas and can also choose from pasta, sandwiches or burgers on the Little Olives Children’s menu, which includes puzzles to keep them occupied.
Child friendly? Yeah, right...

I came here with my little boy of 21 months.
When we arrived at midday, the place was empty. There was a choice of bar and formal dining room, so we opted for the bar area. An open gas fire is accessible at floor level, so very unsafe for little children. The chairs are huge - great for adults but unsuitable for little ones. When I asked for a high chair, I got an old fashioned wood high chair with no table or anywhere to put food. Unsurprisingly, my boy got sick of sitting in there so had to sit on my lap.
I asked for a glass of milk for him, which arrived in a heavy glass whisky tumbler! For food, I ordered creamy pasta with bacon from the child menu. When it arrived, it was scalding hot, and pretty much an adult portion with large pieces of bacon, and supplied with full size cutlery! The waiter informed me they had no child cutlery!
In the end my little boy ate with his hands, as it was the only option.
My food took AGES to arrive, finally getting there long after my boy was ready to go to sleep. I ordered him a children's dessert to keep him going, and it turned out to be large chunks of strawberry with runny cream - again, quite unsuitable and absolutely freezing cold.
Finally, there was no working light in the baby changing room, so I had to use it with the door open straight into the bar area.
All in all, this is so incredibly child unfriendly that it shouldn't even be listed here. Absolutely appalling - I recommend you avoid this place and go to Pizza Express instead.
1 start (just because I can't give zero and the adult food - when it arrived - was nice)
