Bella Italia Leicester Square overview
Slap bang next to the Odeon on Leicester Square, so perfect if you’ve taken the kids for a long day of sightseeing in the capital. You can enjoy some authentic and not over-priced Italian cuisine with special menus and activities to keep the little ones busy.
Great location and ok food

Wanted a nice place to eat near Leicester Square, as a treat for my teen, as part of his belated birthday present. I picked Bella Italia, as we'd been to another one of their restaurants a year before for dinner, so thought their lunch would also be good too.
Unfortunately, I found the staff quite slow and although we didn't specifically ask, no high chair was offered either. The outside seating area was a little cramped, but we made do. It took them a long while to get around to asking us what we wanted to drink. Once ordered, the food came out to us in reasonable time, but my teen liked the taste of his pizza, he found it near impossible to cut through, which made his meal a little disappointing. My husband found his pizza tough too, but again, the flavour was nice. I had the pasta carbonara and that was actually ok and as you'd expect.
My teen's only comment on the toilets were that they needed to be better signposted, for you to find them.
Overall, I won't be going back to that particular Bella Italia, but I'm not going to dismiss them all.

My teenagers and I had chosen to eat in this Bella Italia because it was close to the London sights and there is always something going on in Leicester Square. We hadn’t realised that the evening we chose was premier of the latest James Bond Movie in the Odeon next door. We had to fight our way through the crowds to Bella Italia; something I would not recommend with small children. Perhaps it is best to check if there is anything major going on before using this restaurant. My teenagers were thrilled to see Daniel Craig as well as the X Factor finalists but smaller children might not be so interested. Bella Italia itself was lovely and very quiet since everyone was outside. This is one of the less cramped Bella Italia’s and when we could drag the staff away from the windows the service was very good and food excellent. This is definitely a great place to eat with children as the staff are very child friendly and you never know what you might see outside.
