Rainforest Cafe overview

There’s a tropical Rainforest Café right in the centre of London, complete with an elephant and butterfly room, an aquarium, light shows and lot of noisy sound effects - the children will love it! ... Organic meats and fish are used and there is a healthy fruit salad, as well as a variety of desserts and fruit smoothies. Fixed price kids menu includes a main course, dessert and a drink and they have high chairs, baby changing and a microwave for bottle warming. Gluten, egg and dairy free options are available. Friendly staff welcome families and will ensure that you all have a really special experience. Priority booking rather than reservations so be prepared to wait for a table.

Great for birthdays

We visited the Rainforest Café for our daughter’s birthday and had a really amazing lunch! It was much better than I had anticipated; fantastic scenery, waterfalls, starry skies, moving gorilla’s and hidden parrots, butterflies and monkeys! The prices are moderate to high, but the food was good and after the meal the staff asked the entire restaurant to sing happy birthday to our daughter! They do the same with all ‘birthday’ guests, so during our lunch we also sang happy birthday to two other children! For the birthday treat we chose the volcano ice cream that came with sparklers! We loved it!

Fantastic place

We have just come back from a wonderful lunch at the Rainforest Café. We were initially only going to have a bar snack here, but the menu proved too tempting and we ended up having a full meal. I had read some bad reviews of the place, but our meals were very impressive – and our waiters were great. The children got colouring pencils and a picture menu with puzzles. But the kids liked the jungle scenes best and loved to spot all the animals and birds. The only downside was the ‘thunder’ sounds that started quite suddenly and reduced our three-year old to tears! Other than that, fantastic place!

Sounds of the jungle

We took the kids for a treat to Rainforest over the summer and had a fantastic time! It was very busy, but the staff were extremely welcoming but I’d guess you’d expect that from a restaurant aimed at families. If you like jungles and a place with atmosphere it’s well worth a visit (don’t visit here if you’re after a quiet family meal out). The interior is pretty impressive with fake jungle decoration and electronic animals that come alive ever 10 minutes or so. You’ll even hear the odd thunderbolt and the sound of rain, but don’t worry you will be dining inside and won’t get wet! The menu is based on American and Tex Mex style dining, with an element of jungle fun – the kid’s menu has things like ‘Maya’s’ meatballs and jungle jelly. It doesn’t come cheap but then it is a one off. Beware there’s a shop that sell lots of Rainforest toys on the way out so expect to get a fair few ‘Please mummy’s. Worth a one off visit, but it is quite touristy.
