Carluccio's overview

Located on the busy corner of Brompton Road, opposite South Kensington Tube station, this branch of Carluccio's is convenient for families visiting the Natural History, Science or V&A museums. Described as a traditional Italian Caffe, Carluccio's has an exceptional range of fine foods for lunch, dinner or simply a snack. Children are welcomed here and have special menus that include Italian ... chicken, spinach and ricotta ravioli or traditional lasagne. For fussier palates, children can create their own dish by choosing the type of pasta, penne or spaghetti, and the sauce, tomato, pesto, butter or Ragu. Of course, children will mostly adore the Italian gelato for dessert and the colouring and pencils the staff give out while you wait for your food. Adults will find the range of pastas, meats and salads delicious and moderately priced. Carluccio's in South Kensington is very bright and airy and also offers beautiful cakes, pastries and Italian sandwiches and delicacies to take away.

Carluccio's, South Kensington

We had a lovely dinner at Carluccio’s in South Kensington with some friends. Our kids ranged from two to eleven years and all of them were not only made really welcome by waiters, but they also all loved the food. On arrival we were given grissini (bread sticks) and colouring, which pleased even the eleven year-old. There is a separate menu for children with ravioli and lasagne, or children can pick their own pasta and sauce. This went down best, with a couple of children opting simply for pasta with butter and parmesan cheese. The food was fantastic and we had also chosen a vegetable side (courgettes) which also came with perhaps a little too much butter, but the kids loved. Adult food and wine is divine and there is a host of goodies for home cooking to look over after the meal. Really lovely Italian for families.
