Great food - bit pretentious though we thought!

We came here last summer when our child was about 7 months old. We arrived and were advised that there was a bit of a wait for a table - something we did not expect really as its right on the beach front so not somewhere where you would expect to have to make a reservation. Nevertheless, we walked up and down the front until the correct time. We had our pram with us and our child was asleep at the time (probably the sea air!) and to be honest, a bit of a fuss was made about having the pram next to us at the table (even though there was plenty of room so not sure why!). That said - the food was really lovely and although we didnt order anything for our child at the time as he was a bit young - the childrens menu did look good (although there is not a huge amount of choice). The food was freshly cooked and presented really well. There is baby change and as the other reviewer said - unisex toilets. You cant beat the location - its lovely overlooking the sea!

This is a fantastic place to go for a family lunch if you have fairly well behaved children (the place itself is very child friendly, but have had snooty looks from guardian reader clientelle). Wonderful location right on the beach, and wonderful view if you are lucky enough to get a window seat. Colouring for the children plus a decent chidrens menu (mini fish and chips done properly, or pasta). For the grown ups, lovely fresh fish dishes, plus other options for non fish eaters. Great unisex loos so no excuses for Dad not to take the kids for a wee! Another bonus is that there is a massive car park right behind, so not too far to walk, the beach right in front so plenty to do, and if thats not enough, there is a big play park right next tothe car park which should have a big new sandpit by now.
