Starbucks, Swindon

Starbucks overview

Located on the first floor above New Look, this Starbucks provides a nice break from the shops. It is a popular place for families and during the week parents and babies meet here for coffee. There is room for buggies and also a lift up from the ground floor to save you carrying them up the stairs. They have a few high chairs plus colouring sheets and crayons for the children. As you would expect ... there are plenty of cakes and sandwiches, but you can also find chocolate coins and lollies for the children. As well as hot drinks you can get several types of juices and smoothies too. This Starbucks has a relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to meet friends. Just outside is a children’s play area with several benches which you can go on to on finer days. During the summer there are fountains here which are very popular with the children so take their swimming things if it’s a hot day!

Nice place to get a coffee. They always have a good selection of cakes and sandwiches. It can be pricey if you take the whole family but for a treat it’s perfect. The last time we went they had run out of colourings which was a bit disappointing but luckily I always keep a notepad in my bag so the kids could draw their own pictures with the crayons provided. We went on to the play area outside and also to the fountains beside asda. This is excellent on a hot day, the kids have great fun getting soaked! Do remember a towel though.

We go to Starbucks quite regularly, either on our own or to meet up with friends. It’s always a treat for my son as he gets to choose a small cake or a lolly. He also loves the smoothies they do there. We used to take things to entertain him but since they have put colouring sheets out there’s no need to now, he will sit for at least half an hour doing colouring and drawing. During the week it’s easy to get a seat and if you’re lucky you can get one of the comfy sofas. At weekends it can be busier but we always seem to find somewhere to sit. The prices are what you would expect from a coffee shop, but it’s cheaper than going out for a meal.
