Family holiday offers this autumn

The Christmas countdown may have started, but it’s not too late for a last minute family holiday this year. If your children are too young for school, then you have the flexibility to get away whenever you can. However some places still have availability for the October half-term holiday. Coombe Mill was originally a 16th century water mill and now offers accommodation in a range of traditional stone cottages to suit every family size and budget. There’s lots to do on the farm such as tractor rides, feeding chickens, ponies, rabbits and indoor and outdoor play areas. The setting, near Bodmin Moor and Cornwall’s beaches, is beautiful.

Although not a working farm, there are animals here such as horses, chickens, sheep and two micro-pigs called Matilda and Paddy. The garden has play equipment and there’s a special breakfast menu for children. Baby equipment can be provided and a babysitting service is also available.
